The use rules of Dukan diet Tolerated Foods list 

After the attack phase is over, the Dukan diet tolerated foods are gradually introduced in order to make the diet easier to follow and to reduce the feeling of frustration

What is a Dukan diet tolerated foods? 

They are foods that may contain sugar and fat that will add flavor and taste to your dishes. They must be added from the second phase of Dukan diet. Their consumption must be respected to only a maximum of 3 servings  per day.  

The quantity varies according to the type of food but they are not imposed! You can eliminate them altogether if you want, but they are included to help you tolerate your Dukan diet which seems strict. 

Can We have a tolerated food in the attack phase? 

According to Pierre Dukan, no tolerated foods are allowed during the attack phase of his diet. This phase must be strictly followed for 5 days. To know more: Steps for a successful attack phase. 

The use rules of the Dukan diet Tolarated food 

1 – According to the standard method

  • Tolerated foods are introduced in the second phase. 
  • During phase 2 (cruise phase): 2 tolerated foods per day which are Protein + Fat
  • Phase 3: 3 tolerated foods per day, except on Thursdays, only proteins. 
  • Phase 4 (stabilization phase): All tolerated foods are allowed but we remain to privilege the pure protein foods. 

2-  The Nutritional Staircase method

The nutritional staircase method is a developed version of the standard Dukan diet, it is more balanced so that other sensitive people like pregnant women. The tolerated foods rule is a little different during this method:  From Wednesday to Friday: 1 tolerated per day for the remaining days no tolerated foods allowed. 

List of the Dukan diet Tolerated foods

  • 1 Actimel nature with 0%.
  • 30 g of low-fat chees ( 6%)
  • 10 cl of Coconut milk and 30 cl of lite soya. 
  • low-fat fresh cream 30g
  • Skimmed milk: 45g
  • 1 plain yogurt with 0% fat 
  • 20g of cornstarch or rice starch 
  • 50g of tempeh and soya
  • 20g of soy flour
  • Red or white cooking wine only 30ml /day.
  • 1 tablespoon of Arrow Root
  • Goji berries: 1 tablespoon on pure protein days. 
  • 100% cocoa powder: unsweetened 
  • 5g of soy sauce
  • 20ml of 0% syrup
  • Poultry sausages 10% MG maximum (100g)
  • Poultry sausages 10% MG maximum (100g)
  • Well-defatted meat: 50g
  • 7g of Ricoré

Note: You are allowed 2 tolerated foods per day, knowing that 1 tolerated food = a different food (for example yogurt is not the same thing as cheese )

Are fruits a tolerated food? 

Fruits are not part of the tolerated foods, they are included gradually and little by little from phase 3. 

When should we stop the tolerated foods during Dukan diet? 

You must stop the Dukan diet tolerated food in the period of stagnation. That means that once you notice that the figure of your weight stops decreasing, you must stop the tolerated food. 

Why are the Dukan diet tolerated foods necessary? 

The main objective of Dr. Pierre Dukan in introducing the tolerated foods of the Dukan diet is to prevent people from becoming demotivated because of his strict and severe diet. The tolerated foods of Dukan diet will help you to : 

  • Tolerate the Dukan diet well (by the way this is the reason why they are called tolerated foods)
  • A motivation,
  • Improve taste and texture will help people to enjoy following the Dukan diet. 
  • decrease the feeling of frustration

In what phase can the Extra Gourmand bars be used?

From the cruise phase, the Dukan diet according to its new version allows chocolate bars as a tolerated food of the Dukan diet provided that it is over 75% of dark chocolate. On the other hand,  bars of milk chocolate & protein bars are not allowed. 

Oat bran bars are also recommended during this diet. They are more recommended than others because they will prevent you from taking in too many calories.
